Thelma Kay Briggs was born August 18, 1944,79, She passed away on March 20, 2024, in Savannah, Missouri.

A graveside burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa.

Thelma was born on August 18, 1944, in Knoxville to Clifford and Irene (Priest) Thomas.

She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1962.

Thelma married Floyd Allen, and their marriage was blessed with two children. Years later, she married Wilbur Briggs.

Thelma worked at Marion County Care Facility as a CMA for over 20 years before her retirement.

Following Wilbur’s death, Thelma moved to Waukee, Iowa.

She loved spending her days with her friends putting together jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. In her final year, she moved to Savannah, Georgia to be near her daughter.Thelma Thomas

Thelma is survived by her children, Michael Dean (Kim) Allen and Lynn Marie Parkey; Michael’s children, Abigail Dawn and Aaron Michael; stepchildren, Paul (Nancy) Briggs and Roger (Kim) Briggs; sister, Judith Saurteig; and many beloved grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur Briggs and husband, Floyd Allen; sister, Marilyn Bowman; son in-law, Roger Parkey; and daughter in-law, Dawn Mitchell.
