Tommy Keith Lewis was the youngest of three children that were born to Charles Austin and Carrie May (Briner) Lewis.
He was born on May 14, 1999, in Chariton, Iowa. Tommy graduated from Knoxville High School in Knoxville, Iowa in 2017. He enjoyed shop class and was always ready to learn new things and enjoyed reading.
While in high school he had begun working at the Knoxville Farm and Home Store and soon following his graduation began working at Pella Corporation in Pella, Iowa.
Tommy was a hard-working employee at Pella Corp in the Slider Kitting department for four years where he made many friends until he very recently became employed at Clow Valve Corporation in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Tommy and his fiancé, Stephanie Rayburn, and her eight-year-old daughter, Addysyn, were sharing their lives together in Ottumwa, Iowa at the time of his death on Friday, November 5, 2021, at the age of 22 years.
Tommy and Stephanie enjoyed building legos, gaming late into the night, frequent cuddles, and sharing quick humor and he was always polite.
Tommy, a jeans and boots guy until just very recently wearing shorts and shoes, will be remembered for his pride with his Datsun 280ZX, hanging out with his friends and family, as well as fishing.
Tommy grew up in a blended family of seven siblings and is survived by his mother, Carrie, and her husband Jason Kochenderfer of Monroe, Iowa, his father, Chuck Lewis and his wife, Mechell of Knoxville, Iowa; his two sisters: Christiana Lewis, Destiny Lewis, and the following sisters and brothers: Tamika Jenkins, Michael Bruce, Keyonna Holland, Tyson Lewis, Colton Lewis, and Gracie Lewis.
Tommy leaves several nieces and nephews; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Schumann, paternal grandparents, Michael and Carole Bruce, and his maternal great-grandmother, Myrtle Briner.
“On this side of heaven, there are many challenges in life. On one ever escapes the experience of loss and grief. For those who maintain a living faith, God remains our primary support during these periods of intense pain and loss.”
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, November 13, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, at Dyer/Hudson Hall, Marion County Fairgrounds, Knoxville.
The family requests no flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Tommy Keith Lewis Memorial Fund for future designation.
Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
