Mary Louise (Karr) DenBurger was born on January 25, 1934, at home in rural Knoxville, Iowa. She was the only child born to Frank Earl Karr and Georgia Elizabeth (Heaberlin) Karr.
Mary Louise graduated from Knoxville High School in 1952. After high school, she began to work as a nurse’s assistant at the Collins Memorial Hospital in Knoxville.
Mary Louise was united in marriage to Paul Edward Den Burger in 1954. To this union, one daughter was born, Gaye.
Mary Louise was a longtime member at the First Baptist Church in Knoxville. She enjoyed cooking, baking, collecting cookbooks, and traveling. In 2017, Mary Louise moved into an assisted living facility, Homestead of Knoxville.
Mary Louise went home to her Lord at the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics on December 31, 2021, at the age of 87 years.
Mary Louise leaves behind her only daughter, Gaye (Den Burger) Arkema and her husband Kevin, and her two grandchildren Chandra Marie Arkema, of Trenton, New Jersey and Troy Owen Arkema of West Des Moines, Iowa.
Mary Louise is preceded in death by her father Frank Earl Karr, her mother Georgia Elizabeth Karr, and her beloved husband Paul Edward Den Burger.
No services are being planned at this time.
